Lynchian Style
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 6:05PM Hello kittens...
I hope everyone is having a great day. I am! Why? It's Fall and the sun is shining!!! I hope you're enjoying some sun as well my loves. My mood instantly takes an upturn when it's a sunny day in Fall.
Anyhoo, here's my David Lynch inspired post...
Being a fan of David Lynch and all of his creative endeavors I thought I'd bring some Lynchian Style to this place. I absolutely love Lynch's signature ambiance. It grasps me and pulls me into it's otherworldly atmosphere that has stuck with me since the first time I saw a movie of his. It sculpted my mind in an entirely different way. The masterful control Lynch has over mood and atmosphere completely astounds me.
In Heaven - Michael Forrest remix of song from David Lynch's Eraserhead from Michael Forrest on Vimeo.
As nightmarish or surreal as it may get, it feels so raw and true. Like a dream, inconsistent. I find everything about it a bit unsettling, yet at the same time incredibly, INCREDIBLY beautiful, I mean the mood, the colors, imagery, music, etc ... Stunning! (In fact the colors of our Living room are somewhat inspired by the final scenes of Mulholland Drive. Red combined with what I call dirty light blue, maybe it's time I showed some photos...)
Enjoy!

i love him so much!
I so love this post, I so love Lynch as well. It's true, anyonee else can mix obsession and beauty. His work scares me in the deep yet it's pure beauty...
Chie Mihara shoes, Westwood jacket/skirt and the dress nr.20 are great!!
What a magnificent post! I adore David Lynch -- he is just that perfect mix of sexy, surreal, and unpredictably creepy. Great picks here -- you really invoke his vibe! I am in love with the red suit!
Great style post <3
