For the Love of… Perfume

I love everything about perfume. The smell, the packaging, the way the bottles look on my vanity table and especially the simple act of pressing a button and you get a scent of your favorite fragrance.

Although I love perfume I never wear it at home. I want Christopher to know my personal fragrence (sounds growse?!) and I hate it when he has aftershave on when he comes to bed. When I do wear perfume (mostly when I go out), I like a perfume that's balanced, subtle, in the background. I get a headacke from strong perfumes, uck! One other characteristic of a good perfume I think is that it gives me a pleasent cozy feeling. Here are some recommendations...

mandagore.jpg

Mandragore Eau de Toilette by Annick Goutal:

A vibrant fragrance that combines the freshness of bergamot, star of anise, peppermint, ginger, boxwood, and mandrake. A magical potion that acts as a soothing balm for the skin.
This is a fragrance intended for men or women on a quest for mystery, sensuality, and elegance...

ambresulta.jpg

Ambre Sultan Eau De Parfum by Serge Lutens:

A refined classic amber fragrance for women Conveys sensuality, sophistication & elegance Enriched with powdery and vanilla notes that are derived from the bezoin-rich resins Mixed with coriander, oregano, bay leaf, myrtle, sandalwood & patchouli leaves Perfect for day wear & special occasions.

amytis.jpg

Eau De Parfum Amyitis by Mona Di Orio:

The hanging gardens of Babylon were built to please the Queen Amyitis. The feeling of being in balance with yourself and nature, unburdened and peaceful, inspired Mona di Orio to create this fresh green fragrance. Like a walk in a magical garden where the colors and the perfumes are sublimated. Topnotes of caraway, savory, green leaves. Heartnotes of iris, violet, gaiac wood and cedar. Basenotes of saffron, opoponax, moss and amber.

ecoudray.jpg

Eau De Toilette Ambre & Vanille by E.Coudray:

A riot of sweet, sultry and scorching oriental oils: fragrant vanilla and amber, hints of cinnamon, coconut and golden fruits. All of this in lovely retro packaging.

cederesandaraque.jpg

Collection Privée Cedre Sandaraque by Parfumerie Generale:

An incredible scent even by Pierre Guillaume's exceptional standards. Very rich, multi-layered, original, deep, dark, lasts for ever and great for both sexes. Cedre sandaraque is essentially a vetiver fragrance, but vetiver wrapped up in swathes of woods, softness and a kind of swooning sensuality which transports you into a private world of hypnotic intimate warmth. The incense resin of the African sandarac tree is blended with a variety of vetiver oils , cedar, praline, amber and golden cereal notes which open slowly and progressively on the skin , taking hours to fully unfold and bewitch with their vivid and singular intensity. Marvellous.

baghari.jpg

Eau De Parfum Baghari by Robert Piguet:

Escape and seek a romantic encounter with this exotic elixir. Baghari, warm and alluring, blends a bouquet of rose, jasmine, iris and fresh citrus with powdery amber and natural vanilla.

Love, Betsy.
